Get a strong Wi-Fi connection in your RV

When you’re on the go in your RV, staying connected is more important than ever. Whether you’re working remotely, streaming a movie, or sharing your vacation photos on social media, a Wi-Fi connection in your RV always keeps you close to the places you left behind.

Finding the right wireless internet connection for your RV can be a challenge. For most trips (except those to very remote locations), mobile broadband is an excellent RV Wi-Fi solution. With mobile broadband you can enjoy Wi-Fi in your RV for little more than the cost of a mobile data plan.

Here are a few things to think about while you search for the perfect installed mobile broadband option or, if you already know what you want, jump straight to our data plans:

Where does your RV take you?

When you move from place to place in an RV, your coverage changes. Before you purchase a data plan, take a look at coverage maps from Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile to see which carrier will help you cover the most ground where your RV takes you.

Some wireless routers let you switch between two or more data plans from different carriers, depending on the carriers’ local coverage. Others let you combine or “bond” two or more plans for a seamless on-the-road experience. If you need uninterrupted coverage, these routers are solid options.

How much data do you use?

If RV Wi-Fi will be your primary internet connection, we suggest purchasing an unlimited data plan. Thirty percent of people who use mobile broadband as their primary connection frequently reach their data cap before the end of the month. With an unlimited plan, you never have to worry about using too much data. Do you still need campground Wi-Fi?

You’ve probably struggled with weak campground Wi-Fi at some point. It’s not fun. If you have a data limit on your RV Wi-Fi, though, you might need to use campground Wi-Fi from time to time. For a seamless transition, look for a wireless router that automatically connects to public Wi-Fi networks when they’re available.

Install your system

It’s easy to install mobile broadband in your RV by yourself:

  1. If you purchase mobile broadband through EVDODepotUSA, your internet connection will come pre-installed on your wireless router. If you purchase your connection elsewhere, you may need to insert your SIM card(s) into your router.
  2. Locate the central wiring area in your RV. In this central wiring area, plug your router into either the 12-volt power source or an AC power strip connected to the power source.
  3. To improve the strength of your mobile broadband connection, install a booster antenna in the interior and/or exterior of your RV.
